Patient Service Representative (Phones) – South County
Esse Health is the largest independent physician practice in the St. Louis Metropolitan area, serving nearly 130,000 patients across 35+ locations. We are seeking a full‑time Patient Service Representative for our South County Internal Medicine office located at 5034 Griffin Road.
Responsibilities • Answer incoming calls for 9 providers, asking pertinent questions related to patient symptoms and relaying information to the provider.
• Provide a positive and professional image over the phone and in all interactions with patients and coworkers.
• Act as a front‑desk representative, performing check‑in/out and other administrative duties as needed.
Qualifications Preferred Qualifications:
high school diploma or equivalent, 1+ year experience working with the public, preferably in a healthcare setting.
Key Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of medical terminology and various health insurance plans (HMO, PPO, etc.)
Ability to recognize priority or emergency phone calls
Effective communication with patients, including those who are angry or upset
Multitasking and organization in a fast‑paced environment
Proficiency with Windows‑based PC environment
