– Join the School of Dentistry as a Dental Assistant I supporting restorative and prosthodontic services.

Position Summary:
Assist residents and students with dental treatment, including X-rays, set surgeries, infection control, cleaning, stocking operatories, and other duties under direct supervision.
Responsibilities
Assist in the teaching of dental students, dental assisting students, and dental hygiene students in four-handed dentistry and dental assistant utilization (DAU).
Provide chairside assistance to students and faculty.
Maintain sterile instrument and supply area.
Maintain infection control standards.
Maintain records of patients seen, procedures performed, materials used, and appointments.
Respond to emergency situations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Certification / Skills
Basic office or computer skills.
Dental Assistant certification by Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE) required.
Minimum Education High School Diploma or equivalent required; completion of a recognized dental assistant educational program preferred.
Minimum Experience None.
Physical Requirements Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
Security Sensitive Position This position is a security-sensitive position pursuant to Texas Education Code 51.215 and Texas Government Code 411.094. The applicant must be able to maintain the security and integrity of critical infrastructure.
Residency Requirement Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
