This role focuses on ensuring complete customer delight in an assigned geographic location. You will be responsible for communication, scheduling, safety, management, and administrative duties to support our landscaping services.
Location: San Jose, CA
Responsibilities
Work well with others in a team environment and be helpful and courteous to customers.
Communicate with customers on-site on a routine basis to discuss priorities, inform of scheduled maintenance, progress reports, and courtesy calls.
Attend Homeowner's Association Meetings as necessary (minimum of 2 meetings).
Schedule job site walk-through inspections with customers as required.
Ensure crew members properly care for and use power equipment in accordance with OSHA safety regulations, and equipment is in good operating order.
Maintain and keep available a company planner with customer addenda and expectation notes.
Perform regular employee performance appraisals at least once per year for assigned direct reports.
Personnel management duties including disciplinary actions, promotions, raises, terminations and status changes.
Approve and ensure all hours sheets, job billing sheets and other field reports are submitted on time and accurately.
Sign nondisclosure and non‑competition agreements to protect confidential information.
Assist in preparing estimates, collecting production data, sales presentations, negotiating, and renewing contracts.
Comply with all established company policies and procedures.
As a salaried exempt employee, may be required to work after hours or weekends; arrive before crews dispatch and stay after completion, available by phone weekdays until 5:00 pm.
Requirements
Ability to lift and carry, push and pull 20‑50 pounds of landscape material and equipment.
Ability to walk/stand/squat/kneel.
Make frequent repetitive movements with left & right hand, wrist, ankle and knee.
Ability to twist/turn/bend the trunk of the body frequently.
Other Responsibilities
Perform similar job‑related duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, And Skills
Good interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with customers, employees and the manager.
Must be able to read and write English.
Must possess a valid California driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to the company’s insurance carrier.
Possesses knowledge of application of commonly used pesticides.
Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Sciences or 30 semester units of agricultural‑related courses and two years of technical experience or equivalent field experience and customer communication skills.
Working Conditions While Performing This Position’s Essential Functions
Outdoor sales activities in temperatures ranging from 20° + to 100° + and exposure to light rain.
Exposure to dust, pollen, chemicals, noise and pollutants related to the landscape industry (fertilizer, pesticide, etc.).
Machinery/equipment noise, traffic and hazards related to the landscape industry in a commercial environment.
