Lead Power Systems Controls Engineer Eaton’s Electrical Services & Systems division is searching for a Lead Power Systems Controls Engineer. This hybrid role requires 25‑50% travel within the region, with a company vehicle and overtime pay. The expected annual salary range is $93,750 – $137,500.

What You’ll Do Eaton’s Electrical Services & Systems team offers a comprehensive portfolio of services tailored for every stage of a power system’s life cycle — design, build, or support. Our Power Systems Controls group is a full‑service systems integrator that integrates the necessary equipment and technologies to provide complete power‑automation solutions. We develop and implement control solutions globally.

In This Role, You Will

Design Power Systems Controls.

Program Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Human‑Machine Interfaces (HMIs).

Design protection relay schemes with or without data concentrators.

Manage hyper‑scale data center projects: testing, commissioning, and support.

Support negotiations through consultation, sales calls, and training.

Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field with a minimum of 7 years of power systems controls experience, or a Master’s Degree with at least 4 years of experience.

Must possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license.

No relocation is offered: only candidates residing within a 50‑mile radius of specified cities will be considered (exceptions for active‑duty military).

Preferred Qualifications

Master of Science in Electrical Engineering.

Professional Engineering license.

Experience programming PLCs and interacting directly with customers on technical and deployment aspects.

Skills

Knowledge of automation systems design and power management systems.

Knowledge of protection relay monitoring and control systems.

Working knowledge of test equipment and diagnostic instruments for automation and power management systems.

Knowledge of troubleshooting, test and repair techniques.

Understanding of the company’s and competitors’ automation and power management services.

Strong computer literacy: working knowledge of software packages relevant to tasks.

Knowledge of safety precautions for working with automation and power systems.

Ability to provide service and represent company interests externally.

Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.

Experience with AutoCAD.

Compliance with the company’s safety program.

Background drug screening compliance.
