Senior-Level Electrical Engineer
to join our Power & Energy team in Houston, TX. The following locations will also be considered: Seattle, WA; Hailey, ID; Boise, ID; Overland Park, KS; Atlanta, GA; Oradell, NJ; and Mount Laurel, NJ. The candidate will be involved in projects with our Power Generation Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.

Your Impact
Lead electrical engineer on design of power generation projects
Lead electrical engineer on design of renewable energy projects
Lead electrical engineer on power plant and switchyard electrical system upgrades
Lead electrical engineer on federal electrical system upgrades
Mentor and teach junior and mid-level engineers
Project proposal and budget development
Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
10+ years of detailed design engineering experience in power generation projects, including calculations, equipment specifications, etc.
Engineer license required (multi‑state preferred)
10+ years of experience leading a team of engineers and designers in power generation projects
10+ years of relay coordination and schematic design
Proficiency with CAD, Microsoft Office, and ETAP or SKM software
Experienced with providing critical review for documents and preparing technical deliverables and plans with a high degree of complexity
Well‑developed critical thinking and problem‑solving skills to apply technical knowledge, analyze testing results, data collation, computations, and statistical analysis to arrive at the most effective, economical, and logical solution
Demonstrated effectiveness at coordinating and assertively directing subcontractors and others to consistently complete tasks safely and efficiently
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Must be flexible to a variety of schedules to meet business needs and able to prioritize responsibilities and quickly adapt to change in a pressure work environment
Occasional travel may be required depending on project‑specific requirements
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Engineering
Onsite construction support experience

Compensation Expected Salary: $111,200 – $198,200. This range reflects the salary that WSP believes it might pay based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. WSP reserves the right to adjust compensation as appropriate.
