They serve as trusted advisors, asking insightful questions, building tailored solutions, and delivering customer success. The Senior Solutions Sales Engineer, Enterprise – LATAM (Mexico City)
As a Senior Solutions Engineer you’ll engage at all stages of the customer lifecycle, using demos, presentations, email, phone and social media to connect with developers, product managers and C‑level executives. You’ll build sales presentations, conduct technical proof‑of‑concepts, and educate customers on the best cloud security and identity technology in the market. What You’ll Be Doing
Collaborate with account executives to develop and execute territory and account strategies to maximize the Okta opportunity in those accounts. Prepare and deliver demos that showcase how the Okta platform meets customers’ business needs and use cases. Execute the delivery of POCs for customers with complex use cases, collaborating with Okta engineering teams as needed. This requires the ability to instruct customers in coding their web and mobile applications to integrate with Okta’s Auth0 platform. Conduct research and discovery to understand customer requirements and communicate the business value of solving technical problems with cloud technology. Craft technical content to show customers how to implement specific use cases or standard methodologies for new technologies. Author concise written documentation for RFPs, security questionnaires, product use‑case blogs, etc. Distill and communicate customer needs and product feedback to Product Management, Engineering, Marketing and Sales. Required Skills
5+ years pre‑sales engineering experience. Fluent in English and Spanish (Portuguese is a strong plus). Background in Identity/Security is preferred. Ability to travel inside and outside the USA to Latin American countries.
Passion for serving the customer, demonstrated in a consulting, support or solutions‑engineering role. Excellent communication of complex technical concepts via presentation, slides and whiteboard. Hands‑on coding experience in web (JavaScript, HTML, front‑end frameworks), mobile (iOS, Android) or backend development (Java, C#, Node.js, Python, PHP, Ruby). Experience with at least one standard network security protocol (OAuth, SAML, LDAP). Understanding of core security concerns in typical applications (password hashing, SSL/TLS, encryption at rest, XSS, XSRF). Confidence presenting to highly skilled and experienced audiences. Typically 20-30% travel. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS or comparable field, OR 3+ years experience as a software developer. This role requires in‑person onboarding and travel to our San Francisco, CA HQ office during the first week of employment. Okta is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
