We are on the hunt for a super talented 'someone'. This someone is an IT professional who is responsible for maintaining day‑to‑day operations and ensures a seamless Sailor Experience when it comes to Shipboard Technology and to attend to maintenance duties as assigned. In other words, this someone needs to know how to Make Ship Happen. Your excellent attention to detail and self‑starter mentality means you can think quick on your feet and keep calm when the ship gets real. Ultimately, we won't be able to remember how we got by without you.
Operational Support
Assess, communicate, and minimize downtime by escalating technology outages appropriately.
Escalate incidents through approved IT channels and communicate updates promptly to shipboard management.
Maintain and support shipboard IT assets, systems, and user devices.
Manage mobile device configurations (iOS and Android) using approved MDM solutions.
Interact with Sailors and Crew to troubleshoot IT issues on devices.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate inventory and IT documentation.
Create or update technical documentation, runbooks, and standard routines.
Log outages, issues, and changes clearly and on time to ensure visibility and continuity.
Additional Responsibilities
Maintain system and data security as a top priority onboard.
Support ship‑to‑shore communications (VSAT) and ensure stable data transfer.
Maintain the onboard Data Center, fiber, and copper network infrastructure with minimal downtime and current firmware.
Support all shipboard systems (PMS, POS, VOIP, CCTV, LMS, Crew Management, EMR, etc.), ensuring minimal downtime and timely escalation.
Respond promptly to user requests and support mission‑critical systems.
Plan and prepare for upcoming ports of call and embarkation days.
Conduct and report planned maintenance assigned to IT.
Participate in inspections, trainings, and departmental meetings as instructed by the Head of Department.
Participate in Sailor‑facing events when technology support is required.
Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and team responsibilities.
Superpowers Required
Minimum associate degree in Computer Science and/or related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum 1‑year experience as an IT Support onboard a Ship.
Mobile device management and asset inventory focused individual; certifications in network, server, and VMware are a bonus for this position.
Good command of the English Language.
