The Environmental Test (ET) organization supports all programs with testing from prototype to production, covering mechanical shock, vibration, salt fog, climate, temperature, and structural analysis.
What You Will Do
Consult and provide testing guidance to internal program customers, ensuring proposed tests meet intended requirements.
Write test plans and procedures, review others’ plans, and create schedules and budgets for all testing.
Oversee and personally conduct environmental testing to validate models for product qualification, acceptance, flight test clearance, engineering evaluation, and failure investigation.
Implement engineering best practices to ensure accurate, on‑schedule, and budget‑conscious testing.
Analyze test data in real‑time and post‑test to validate that requirements are met.
Communicate status of ongoing testing to ET leadership and internal program customers.
Design, model, and analyze vibration and structural test fixtures using CREO Parametric and ANSYS Workbench.
Qualifications You Must Have
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or closely related STEM field and eight (8) years of relevant experience.
Technical writing experience in test planning, analysis, or reporting.
Experience with environmental test shaker systems or instrumentation (accelerometers, thermocouples, strain gages, load cells, etc.) and data acquisition systems (Dewetron, DeweSoft, LabView, Agilent/Keysight, Benchlink, Somat, etc.).
U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
Preferable majors: Electrical, Aerospace, or Mechanical.
Experience with commercial environmental test equipment – vibration test systems and thermal chambers.
Experience with vibration control systems and software.
Experience with solid modeling and analysis software.
High situational awareness and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Current DoD Secret or TS/SSBI clearance.
