Position Overview The Catering Manager is responsible for effectively and profitably managing premium and catering operations for all baseball and non-baseball events at Maimonides Park. This position reports to the Director, Food & Beverage.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Hire, train, and manage a team of seasonal employees
Maintain a strong presence in all hospitality areas throughout the entirety of the event
Initiate contact with clients to obtain their food and beverage orders prior to the event and act as primary point of contact before, during, and after the event
Collaborate with the Executive Chef and Director of F&B to create and execute an exciting premium menu
Work closely with the Director of F&B to manage costs as it relates to labor, food and beverage, operating supplies, smallwares, etc. working within established budgets
Ensure that all equipment is in proper operational condition and is cleaned on a regular basis
Maintain a consistent level of service, including suite or picnic setup, menu presentation, food quality, and overall event execution
Constantly communicate with the front office for information and updates regarding attendance in hospitality areas
Perform other related duties, tasks, and responsibilities as required; this role will support other departments as needed
Minimum Qualifications
Previous leadership experience in the food and beverage industry, to include large‑scale catering and premium operations
Strong commitment to delivering on an exceptional fan experience
Customer service oriented with the ability to interact with all levels of management
Strong working knowledge of all facets of the food and beverage industry, including but not limited to food safety, sanitation, inventory control, labor management, quality control, responsible beverage service
Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to collaborate and influence
Familiarity with various POS and BOH systems and the ability to troubleshoot these systems when needed
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Ability to work all Brooklyn Cyclones home games and non‑baseball events
