Position Overview
The Catering Manager is responsible for effectively and profitably managing premium and catering operations for all baseball and non-baseball events at Maimonides Park. This position reports to the Director, Food & Beverage.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Hire, train, and manage a team of seasonal employees
- Maintain a strong presence in all hospitality areas throughout the entirety of the event
- Initiate contact with clients to obtain their food and beverage orders prior to the event and act as primary point of contact before, during, and after the event
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef and Director of F&B to create and execute an exciting premium menu
- Work closely with the Director of F&B to manage costs as it relates to labor, food and beverage, operating supplies, smallwares, etc. working within established budgets
- Ensure that all equipment is in proper operational condition and is cleaned on a regular basis
- Maintain a consistent level of service, including suite or picnic setup, menu presentation, food quality, and overall event execution
- Constantly communicate with the front office for information and updates regarding attendance in hospitality areas
- Perform other related duties, tasks, and responsibilities as required; this role will support other departments as needed
Minimum Qualifications
- Previous leadership experience in the food and beverage industry, to include large‑scale catering and premium operations
- Strong commitment to delivering on an exceptional fan experience
- Customer service oriented with the ability to interact with all levels of management
- Strong working knowledge of all facets of the food and beverage industry, including but not limited to food safety, sanitation, inventory control, labor management, quality control, responsible beverage service
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to collaborate and influence
- Familiarity with various POS and BOH systems and the ability to troubleshoot these systems when needed
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Ability to work all Brooklyn Cyclones home games and non‑baseball events
