Job Overview Tessera is seeking a skilled Plumber to assemble, install, and repair heating, water, and drainage systems at Naval Base Kitsap, Bangor. This role involves reading and interpreting building plans, preparing work areas, and ensuring plumbing installations comply with specifications and codes. Working under supervision, the Plumber will support safe, efficient operations while building hands‑on experience in a variety of plumbing tasks.
Typical Duties
Assist with maintenance, installation, inspection, and repair of plumbing systems, including water, sewer, gas, air, steam, pools, and related equipment.
Clear blockages and maintain drain lines, floor drains, vents, and storm drainage systems.
Repair or replace faucets, joints, valves, pumps, and plumbing fixtures to ensure efficient system operation.
Install and service domestic, industrial, and commercial plumbing fixtures such as sinks, toilets, showers, heaters, and disposals.
Support preventive maintenance, inspections, and fire protection system component repairs.
Read and follow technical manuals, schematics, and work plans to perform accurate diagnostics and repairs.
Maintain accurate service records, generate parts requests, and use handheld devices for documentation.
Operate and maintain plumbing tools and equipment; participate in on‑call rotation as required.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum 3 years in Plumbing or closely related field.
Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Journeyman Plumber card required.
Personnel inspecting, testing, certifying, and making recommendations for corrective action for backflow preventers must be certified per UG‑2029‑ENV and possess a Backflow Assembly Tester (BAT) certificate for the State of Washington.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time.
Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up/down stairs may also be required.
Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods.
Requirements
A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
Access to a federal military installation requires a REAL‑ID‑compliant driver's license or an acceptable alternative, such as a U.S. passport or military ID, in accordance with the REAL‑ID Act. Examples: Please visit https://www.dhs.gov/real-id for more information.
Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. A background check and E‑Verify will be conducted.
