Responsibilities Tessera seeks a detail-oriented and compliance-driven Tech II in Corrosion Control. The primary duties include performing advanced corrosion prevention, inspection, and maintenance tasks to protect metal surfaces, equipment, and facilities from deterioration. This role supports corrosion control operations, using established procedures and safety standards to extend the service life of structures and equipment.
Conduct advanced inspections of pipelines, tanks, structural steel, and equipment using specialized testing methods (e.g., ultrasonic, magnetic particle, cathodic protection surveys).
Use hand tools, precision instruments, and other specialized equipment to install, inspect, repair, maintain, and adjust impressed current and sacrificial anode cathodic protection systems.
Prepare test instruments, conduct field tests, record and collect data for reports.
Prepare technical reports using PC-based systems pre-formatted for data collection, maintenance, and report generation.
Remove, repair, restore, and apply industrial coatings used to control corrosion and routine cleaning/maintenance of associated equipment.
Maintain, repair, and/or replace cathodic protection systems.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum 3 years of experience in the corrosion control industry.
National Electrical Contractors Association (N.A.C.E.) Certification Exam – CIP Level 3 required.
International Cathodic Protection Technologist (CP2) or higher required.
Ability to read and interpret simple blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and perform repetitive motion for several hours at a time.
Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, walking, standing or sitting for extended periods; climbing in and out of a vehicle; up and down stairs.
Perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods.
Requirements
Valid state driver’s license required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
Access to a federal military installation requires a REAL ID‑compliant driver’s license or an acceptable alternative (e.g., U.S. passport or military ID) in accordance with the REAL ID Act.
Must obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access; background check and E‑Verify will be conducted.
