Job Summary The NP provides clinical and operational support to both the Preoperative Anesthesia Clinic and the Anesthesia Pain Team at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital. Time will be divided based on departmental needs. General responsibilities for both areas are obtaining a health history, performing a physical assessment, identifying problems and formulating a plan that includes further diagnostic evaluation, risk stratification and counseling. The NP facilitates the coordination of inpatient and outpatient care and services as needed.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $100.48 - $130.31 (Hourly Rate).

Department Description The Respiratory Care Services (RCS) Department at Zuckerberg San Francisco General (ZSFG) has been a renowned leader in respiratory care for over forty years. RCS functions under the guidance of the Department of Anesthesia in the School of Medicine (SOM) at UCSF; one of the world's leading centers of health sciences, research, patient care, and education. The primary focus of ZSFG Respiratory Care Service is in critical and acute care and features an expanded scope of practice. The department has a growing presence in outpatient clinics and community services. Our Respiratory Care Practitioners (RCPs) serve as consultants to nursing, faculty, and all other members of the healthcare team.

Required Qualifications

A minimum of one (1) year of recent clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in perioperative setting

Fluent in Spanish and / or Cantonese

Experience in Pain Management

Previous training and experience in Critical Care, Cardiology, or Internal Medicine

Training and experience in Family Practice

License / Certification

California Registered Nurse (RN) License without restriction

California Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) without restriction

California Nurse Practitioner Furnishing Number including Schedule II furnishing privileges

NP national board certification from an accepted certifying agency aligned with the patient population and clinical role Hybrid Adult and Pediatric Outpatient and Inpatient (Family, Primary, or Specialty Care) (FNP-C, FNP-BC; or dual adult (A-GNP-C, ANP-C, GNP-C, AGPCNP-BC, ANP-BC, GNP-BC, ACNP-BC, AGACNP-BC, ACNPC-AG, ACNPC) AND pediatric (CPNP-PC, PPCNP-BC, CPNP-AC) certification.

California Driver License (if required for position)

Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Registration with Schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4, and 5 registered to a California address

American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Additional required AHA certifications : ACLS

Additional required certifications (such as ENLS) : none (enter none, if no additional certifications are required)

In most cases this is done through its Office of Medical Affairs & Governance (OMAG) prior to the first working day. Credentialing and approval of the Standardized Procedures takes between 60-90 days but can vary.
