Nurse Practitioner Hematology Oncology

This limited appointment position will end on June 30, 2026. The UCSF Hematology‑Oncology Division at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital is seeking a part‑time Nurse Practitioner to provide exceptional patient‑centered care to individuals with cancer and hematological disorders. Under the supervision of the medical director and collaborating physicians, the Nurse Practitioner will provide care in our ambulatory outpatient clinics to patients undergoing treatment for various malignancies—including lung, head and neck, prostate, and breast cancer—as well as hematological disorders. The Nurse Practitioner will actively contribute to symptom management, treatment toxicity management, care coordination, triage support, and other clinical duties as assigned.

Salary range:

$100.48 – $130.31

per hour.

Department Description

The Division of Hematology/Oncology is one of the largest divisions in the Department of Medicine (DOM). It has more than 80 full‑time faculty, 18 part‑time/volunteer faculty, 26 ACGME and non‑ACGME fellows, 13 post‑doctoral fellows, 32 non‑faculty appointments and 57 administrative and research staff. The division’s primary functions are distributed among Parnassus, Mission Bay and Mount Zion campuses, with faculty, fellows and staff also engaged in clinical, research and educational activities at San Francisco General Hospital (SFGH) and Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC).

Required Qualifications

At least one (1) year of recent experience as a medical oncology NP and/or successful completion of a one‑year comprehensive oncology APP fellowship program.

Preferred Qualifications

Two (2) or more years of oncology experience.

Bilingual in English and Spanish or Cantonese.

Prior experience in a safety‑net, public, or resource‑limited health system.

Familiar with EPIC.

License/Certification

California Registered Nurse (RN) License without restriction.

California Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) without restriction.

California Nurse Practitioner Furnishing Number including Schedule II furnishing privileges.

National board certification from an accepted certifying agency aligned with the patient population and clinical role (Adult Outpatient – e.g., A‑GNP‑C, ANP‑C, FNP‑C, GNP‑C, AGPCNP‑BC, ANP‑BC, FNP‑BC, GNP‑BC, ACNP‑BC, AGACNP‑BC, ACNPC‑AG, ACNPC).

California Driver License (if required for position).

DEA Registration with Schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4, 5 registered to a California address.

AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Additional AHA certifications: None.

Additional required certifications (such as ENLS): None.

UCSF Medical Center and Campus require certain healthcare providers to be credentialed. In most cases this is done through its Office of Medical Affairs & Governance (OMAG) prior to the first working day. Credentialing and approval of the Standardized Procedures takes between 60‑90 days but can vary.
