The selected candidate

Hands‑on design and implementation of scalable data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehousing solutions aligned with Azure Well‑Architected Framework (WAF) pillars.

Accountable for complex data models, leveraging strong data‑modelling standards to ensure high quality.

Drive best practices for data security, privacy, and integrity.

Ensure the reliability and efficiency of data infrastructure in the Azure cloud.

Understand AI‑driven data engineering tools and build AI‑ready use cases.

Collaborate across the business and communicate with program teams, management, and stakeholders on large, complex projects.

Your Key Responsibilities Include

Lead the production of high‑quality data engineering deliverables and mentor junior team members.

Design, develop, and implement processes to extract, transform, and load data from disparate sources into analytics‑ready formats.

Define future‑state data architectures aligned with industry best practices and organizational needs.

Develop data‑architecture strategy and assess existing architectures to recommend improvements.

Translate requirements into detailed design specifications and solution architecture deliverables.

Define and implement data‑management strategies aligned with business objectives.

Lead data quality reviews, including cleansing, and resolve integration issues with advanced technical leadership.

Ensure project expectations, principles, structures, tools, and responsibilities are in place.

Analyze industry trends such as cloud computing and distributed processing and infer potential impact.

Provide advanced technical expertise to maximize efficiency, reliability, and value from current processes.

Research and monitor client base and industry developments to identify new product opportunities.

Build strong relationships across engineering teams and develop leading data‑engineering solutions.

Drive adherence to data‑engineering and data‑modeling standards and contribute to technology standard maintenance.

Skills And Attributes For Success

Data Architecture: Design and implement solutions using Azure Well‑Architected Framework pillars.

Infrastructure Architecture Diagrams: Create Azure Infrastructure Architecture Diagrams (IAD).

Data Extraction: Design efficient extraction for high‑volume structured and unstructured data with CDC automation.

Data Ingestion: Build strategies for batch and stream processing from all source systems.

Data Processing: Develop models for validation, quality, profiling, etc.

Data Modeling: Produce complex data models with a sound understanding of standards.

Data Store: Design storage models and manage migration between systems.

Data Consumption: Design consumption mechanisms with APIs, virtualization, and visualization tools.

Data Governance: Develop governance mechanisms including catalogue, lineage, classification, MDM, exploration.

Data Security: Implement authentication and authorization methods.

Data Integration: Manage ETL strategies for seamless data flow.

Required Technical Skills

Hands‑on experience building Data Architecture with patterns like Data Mesh, Data Fabric, Data Lakehouse, Data Observability, and DaaS.

Proficient in Azure services (Data Lake, SQL Database, Synapse Analytics).

Experience building orchestration with Azure Data Factory, Function App, Logic App.

Proficient in SQL and familiar with Python and Java.

Optimized Databricks performance (ingestion, transformation, consumption).

Designed and built Data Platforms integrating disparate sources.

Designed authentication and authorization for data security.

Expert in MPP designs for high‑performance analytics.

Expert in Azure Data Bricks, Azure SQL, Spark.

Designed dataflows using NiFi/ADF, Databricks.

Advanced design and implementation of analytic warehouses.

Advanced Spark architecture implementation.

Worked with Kafka.

Experience with Python, PySpark, or R.

Expert in complex SQL queries and procedures.

Understanding of big data and distributed architecture.

Created ingestion workflows with Oozie or similar.

Knowledge of HTTPS and Kerberos.

Beneficial Technical Skills

Azure Data Lake Store, Databricks Delta Lakes.

NoSQL databases.

Advanced Analytics, ML and AI.

Graph Databases (Neo4J, Cypher, CosmosDB).

Microservices development.

Education

B.E. / M.S. in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, IT, or related field.

Big Data Certification (Cloudera/Hortonworks/Databricks).

What We Offer You Compensation ranges are provided to comply with U.S. pay transparency laws. Other geographies follow local guidelines.

Base salary range $145,500 to $280,000 for U.S. geographic locations. City ranges $174,500 to $318,200 for NY, Washington, CA. Individual salaries determined by various factors.

Comprehensive benefits: medical/dental coverage, pension, 401(k), paid time off.

Hybrid model: in‑person 40‑60% for external client roles.
