The selected candidate

Hands‑on design and implementation of scalable data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehousing solutions aligned with Azure Well‑Architected Framework (WAF) pillars.

Accountable for a suite of complex data models, leveraging strong data‑modelling standards to ensure high quality.

Drive best practices for data security, data privacy, and data integrity.

Ensure the reliability and efficiency of data infrastructure in the Azure cloud.

Understand AI‑driven data engineering tools and work on building cutting‑edge AI‑ready use cases.

Work with other departments across the business to define and deliver business value, interfacing with program teams, management, and stakeholders on large, complex projects.

Your Key Responsibilities Include

Lead the production of high‑quality data engineering deliverables, ensuring project timelines are met and providing informal mentoring/training to junior team members.

Lead design, development, and implementation of processes to extract, transform, and load data from disparate sources into consumable formats for analytics.

Develop and define future state data architectures aligned with industry best practices and organizational needs.

Design data architecture strategy, develop modern data platform solutions, assess existing enterprise architecture, and devise recommendations.

Translate requirements, design, and solution architecture deliverables into detailed design specifications.

Define and implement data management strategies aligned with business objectives.

Lead delivery of data quality reviews, including cleansing where necessary to ensure integrity and quality.

Evaluate and resolve data quality review issues, leveraging advanced technical knowledge and showing leadership while driving continuous improvement.

Provide a leadership role for the work group, ensuring expectations, principles, structures, tools, and responsibilities support project success.

Analyze industry trends such as cloud computing and distributed processing, assessing potential impact on business over short and long terms.

Provide advanced technical expertise to maximize efficiency, reliability, and value from current data engineering processes, researching and monitoring client and industry developments to identify new product opportunities.

Develop strong relationships with peers across engineering, collaborating on leading data engineering solutions.

Drive adherence to data engineering and data modeling processes, procedures, standards, and provide input into technology standards.

Skills And Attributes For Success

Data Architecture: Design and implement solutions leveraging Azure Well‑Architected Framework pillars.

Infrastructure Architecture Diagrams: Create Azure Infrastructure Architecture Diagrams (IAD) that visually represent data solutions.

Data Extraction: Design efficient high‑volume extraction and automation CDC mechanisms.

Data Ingestion: Design batch and stream ingestion strategies for diverse source data.

Data Processing: Design and implement data validation, quality, and profiling models.

Data Modeling: Produce complex data models using sound data‑modelling standards.

Data Store: Design storage models, requirements, and data migration strategies.

Data Consumption: Design APIs, virtualization, and visualization mechanisms.

Data Governance: Design governance mechanisms, including catalogues, lineage, classification, MDM, and exploration.

Data Security: Implement authentication and authorization methods to ensure data security.

Data Integration: Design and manage ETL, orchestration, and seamless data flow across systems.

Required Technical Skills

Hands‑on experience building Data Architecture using patterns such as Data Mesh, Data Fabric, Lakehouse, Observability & Data‑as‑a‑Service (DaaS).

Proficient in Azure services (Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse Analytics).

Experience with Azure Data Factory, Function App, and Logic App orchestration.

Proficient in SQL, Python, and Java.

Extensive experience on Databricks performance optimization.

Design and build data platforms integrating disparate sources.

Design and implement authentication and authorization methods for data security.

Expertise with MPP designs for high‑performance analytics.

Expertise in Azure, Azure Databricks, Azure SQL, Spark.

Develop dataflows using NiFi/ADF, Databricks.

Advanced design and implementation of large analytic warehouses.

Hands‑on experience with Spark architecture.

Experience with Kafka and other distributed messaging systems.

Python, PySpark, or R proficiency.

Expertise building complex SQL queries and procedures.

Understanding of big data and distributed architecture.

Experience creating ingestion workflows using Oozie or similar.

Knowledge of security measures like HTTPS and Kerberos.

Beneficial Technical Skills

Azure Data Lake Store, Databricks Delta Lakes.

NoSQL database experience.

Advanced analytics, ML and AI.

Graph databases (Neo4J, Cypher, CosmosDB).

Microservices development.

Education

B.E./M.S. in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, IT, or related field (preferred).

Big Data Certification (Cloudera/Hortonworks/Databricks).

What We Offer You The compensation ranges below are provided in order to comply with United States pay transparency laws. Other geographies will follow local salary guidelines, which may not be a direct conversion of published US salary ranges. Comprehensive compensation and benefits package, rewarded based on performance and recognized for value. Base salary in the US: $145,500–$280,000. New York City Metro Area, Washington State, and California (excluding Sacramento): $174,500–$318,200. Salaries are determined by factors including education, experience, skills, and geography.

Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off.

Hybrid model: most external client‑serving roles work together in person 40–60% of the time during an engagement, project, or year.
