Job Description HPE Zerto Software accelerates IT transformation by eliminating the risk and complexity of modernization and cloud adoption. As a Pre‑Sales Engineer, you will provide technical support and leadership in the creation and delivery of technology solutions that meet customer business needs.

Responsibilities

Deliver the Zerto message and vision, including technical architecture presentations and product demonstrations to prospective customers and partners.

Conduct live and virtual customer meeting presentations and demonstrations.

Support lead generation activities such as events, webinars, and user groups.

Lead technical sales calls and qualify sales opportunities based on customer technical requirements, competition, decision‑making process, and funding.

Stay current with continuous education on Zerto’s latest software, platforms, and cloud solutions.

Act as a technical expert to develop and propose solutions that meet the technology and business requirements of customers.

Implement and manage proofs of concept to technical closure.

Own all pre‑sales activities in support of technical evaluation and validation of Zerto solutions.

Continuously drive and promote the value of Zerto solutions to partners and customers.

Interact with Product Management to ensure the product meets customer requirements and communicate these requirements to stakeholders.

Requirements

5 to 7 years of experience in Pre‑Sales Engineering or a similar customer‑facing role in software or data center environments.

Fundamental breadth of technical knowledge in cloud data management, backup, and disaster recovery.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Self‑motivated and a self‑starter, comfortable working remotely and autonomously.

Strong practical understanding of datacenter and cloud architecture (VMware, Azure, AWS, GCP, etc.).

Thrives in a fast‑paced environment; able to handle multiple calls/demos per day with immediate follow‑up.

High level of business acumen and experience working with all levels of decision makers, including C‑level personnel.

Ability to travel up to 50%.

Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience.

Highly Preferred Skills

Working knowledge of Salesforce.com or another major CRM.

Familiarity with real‑life IT environments and enterprise‑level systems administration.

Experience in server, storage, and/or network administration.

Practical working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, or other major databases; Linux or UNIX administration skills.

Experience with PowerShell, shell scripting, or REST API scripting.

Ability to test and set up customer‑like computing environments for demo or troubleshooting purposes.

Understanding of computer and networking hardware, network routing, and configuration.

Familiarity with the installation and configuration of Linux or UNIX operating systems and the operation of TCP/IP networking on them.
