Senior Scientist Conjugation Chemistry

is responsible for conjugation of fluorescent dyes to biological molecules and beads and analysis of these conjugates by flow cytometry.

This position reports to the Conjugation Chemistry Lead and is part of the Beckman Coulter Life Sciences Research group located in Miami, FL and will be an on‑site role.

In This Role

Initiate and perform research to support the advancement of Beckman Coulter technologies related to dye-protein and nanoparticle-protein conjugation for use in flow cytometry.

Develop novel approaches for protein conjugations that allow fast and reproducible antibody-dye conjugate generation.

Optimize and simplify antibody-conjugate purification protocols to improve yields and scalability.

Actively publish results in peer‑reviewed journals, generate intellectual property filings that describe technologies and applications that will lead to an innovative and robust technology pipeline.

The Essential Requirements Of The Job

Ph.D. or MS in Protein chemistry, biochemistry or related field with 2 plus years of post‑Ph.D and 7 plus years of post MS experience.

Demonstrated experience in antibody bioconjugation.

Minimum of 2 years of experience working in protein purification/characterization research on the bench. Hands‑on experience with modern protein‑characterization techniques.

Motivated self‑starter with demonstrated ability to achieve successful results, including publications, presentations, intellectual property generation.

Ability to understand complex scientific, engineering and business concepts.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in

Multicolor spectral flow cytometry.
