Staff Research Scientist, Chemistry

As a Staff Scientist, you will support ongoing chemistry projects by carrying out organic synthesis of fluorescent dyes suitable for flow cytometry. In This Role You Will
Work as part of a team to invent novel fluorescent molecules, synthesize them, purify, and characterize their physical, chemical, and functional properties for biological applications, including use as markers in flow cytometry. Establish internal relationships and collaborate with reagent development groups to understand current and future needs. Work independently, actively publish results in peer‑reviewed journals, and generate intellectual property filings that describe technologies and applications that will lead to an innovative, robust fluorescent dye pipeline. Essential Requirements
Ph.D. or M.S. in organic chemistry or related field with at least 5 years of post‑Ph.D. experience (or 10 years of post‑M.S. experience). Self‑starter with strong problem‑solving skills and a track record of delivering results, including publications, presentations, and intellectual property. Experience synthesizing and evaluating photophysical properties of dyes, demonstrating feasibility of new dye technologies and applications for cellular analysis. Knowledge of FRET‑based systems is required. Maintain detailed experiment records, analyze and present research results in meetings and publications, and track research project plans. Keep scientific and industry awareness up to date by reviewing literature, competitive IP filings, and participating in meetings. Preferred Experience
