The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading the Project Management Team with the daily management and execution of the construction process for multiple and large, complex projects. This role involves working closely with the DAVIS Superintendent to ensure the successful completion of projects within time and budget, focusing on safety, quality, scheduling, estimating, and contract administration. The position also includes active involvement in preconstruction activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Safety
Enforce DAVIS Safety program in accordance with policies and laws, including subcontractors
Resolve safety issues promptly; conduct regular safety walks
Maintain certifications in First Aid, CPR, and OSHA
Technical Knowledge
Support pre-construction services, including cost estimates and scheduling
Develop bid packages, review subcontractor bids, and oversee project schedules
Review contract terms for risk management
Develop project budgets and manage change orders
Negotiate contracts and manage procurement processes
Prepare and update project schedules and cost tracking documents
Lead project meetings and document proceedings
Review submittals, RFIs, and ensure sustainability tracking
Oversee project reporting, invoicing, and closeout processes
Quality of Work
Implement DAVIS quality management system
Ensure compliance with standards and proper documentation
Manage scope of work development and bid analysis
Additional Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and supervise project team members
Promote safety, quality, and teamwork culture
Communicate effectively with all project stakeholders
Identify and resolve project issues proactively
Organize workflows and prioritize tasks
Manage project timelines and deliverables
Lead project management and leadership initiatives
Knowledge, Experience, and Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field or equivalent experience
Minimum of 7 years in construction, with experience in commercial projects
Knowledge of safety standards, project management, and sustainable building practices
Strong negotiation, communication, and leadership skills
Proficiency in MS Office and project management software
Certifications in First Aid, CPR, OSHA 30-hour preferred
Physical Demands and Working Conditions Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, operate office equipment, and work in varying environments including construction sites with safety precautions.
Some travel may be required. The work environment includes typical office settings and active construction sites with associated hazards.
Compensation and Benefits Salary range: $134,000 - $180,000. DAVIS offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance, retirement plans, bonuses, paid time off, and additional perks.
