Our client, DAVIS Construction, is seeking skilled and experienced general construction Project Managers. DAVIS Construction is seeking an experienced
Senior Project Manager
to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of large, complex commercial construction projects. This role partners closely with the DAVIS Superintendent and project teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Lead day-to-day management, coordination, and execution of multiple large and complex construction projects
Partner with the DAVIS Superintendent to manage field operations, site logistics, and sequencing
Oversee preconstruction activities including estimating, scopes of work, bidding, and scheduling
Develop and manage project budgets, buy-out strategies, and cost controls
Prepare, track, and maintain detailed construction schedules and cost reports
Lead project meetings with internal teams, owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors
Negotiate and manage subcontract agreements, purchase orders, change orders, RFIs, and closeout processes
Review owner contracts and identify potential risks in collaboration with senior leadership
Review, approve, and code subcontractor and vendor invoices
Manage monthly owner invoicing and financial reporting
Lead project closeout including punch lists, documentation, and financial resolution
Safety, Quality & Compliance
Enforce DAVIS safety programs and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
Promote a safety-first culture across job sites and project teams
Implement DAVIS Quality Management standards and processes
Oversee submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, and LEED or sustainability tracking as applicable
Ensure accurate documentation, reporting, and adherence to best practices
Foster strong collaboration among project stakeholders including owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams
Communicate project progress, risks, schedules, and financial updates clearly and consistently
Build strong relationships that support successful project outcomes
Participate in client presentations, business development efforts, and internal initiatives
Leadership & Development
Supervise, mentor, and support Project Managers, Project Engineers, Project Coordinators, and Assistant Project Managers
Provide coaching, performance feedback, and professional development support
Support recruiting and retention of DAVIS project team members
Manage multiple projects simultaneously or oversee large, complex projects

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Minimum
7 years of commercial construction experience
General contracting experience required
Strong knowledge of construction project management, scheduling, cost control, and safety standards
Experience with subcontractor negotiations, change management, and project financials
Proven leadership, mentoring, communication, and problem-solving skills
Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Experience with project management and scheduling software (Primavera, MS Project, or similar)
First Aid, CPR, and OSHA 30-hour certification required
LEED certification preferred
Physical Demands & Working Conditions This role requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, kneel, crouch, and work in both office and active job-site environments. Occasional travel may be required. Employees may be exposed to construction-related noise and hazards; safety resources and training are provided.
Compensation Base salary range:
$134,000 – $180,000
(Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.)
