As a member of the Vehicle Controls team, you will work closely with the Navigation Software team to enhance Tesla’s in-house traffic prediction and routing algorithms, which serve current vehicles and future Robotaxis. Your work will involve applying physics modeling, statistical analysis, operations research, and machine learning to improve system performance. Tesla vehicles generate terabytes of data daily. Your responsibilities will include analyzing fleet data to improve traffic prediction models, enhancing ETA accuracy, route quality, and other related tasks. Responsibilities

Analyze large-scale fleet data to inform traffic prediction and routing algorithms. Design, analyze, and prototype new algorithms to improve traffic prediction and customer experience. Collaborate with Tesla Navigation Software Engineers to implement, validate, and deploy algorithms at scale. Develop test plans, pipelines, and tools to ensure quality of trip planning algorithms. Work with Validation teams to prevent regressions and ensure successful rollouts. Communicate analysis results and tradeoffs to decision makers and cross-functional teams. Qualifications

Degree in Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Data Science, or equivalent experience demonstrating exceptional ability. Experience with exploratory statistical analysis and testing on large datasets. Proven ability to design, analyze, and implement forecasting or optimization schemes for real-world applications. Ability to collaborate cross-functionally, work hands-on, and execute open-ended projects in a fast-paced environment. Experience with machine learning techniques for prediction problems. Proficiency in Python and Golang, with experience in collaborative code development. Experience with traffic and routing algorithms is preferred. Benefits

Expected annual salary ranges from $133,440 to $292,800, plus cash and stock awards. Total compensation may vary based on experience and location. Details will be provided upon offer. Additional Information
