Responsibilities
Assist the Distribution Center Manager in overseeing physical receiving and distribution of specialty wire and cable products.
Ensure security and efficient operation of loading, unloading, and inventory tracking in a 5S environment.
Process daily orders to achieve 100% customer satisfaction, managing multiple priorities across receiving, shipping, loading/unloading trucks, forklift operation and use of warehouse equipment.
Supervise daily functions of DC associates, including work assignments, training, safety standards, and SOP adherence.
Collaborate with local and national sales teams to meet customer order requirements and specifications.
Handle communication and shipping documentation with truck drivers.
Coordinate orders and enforce priority codes for timely shipping; verify order accuracy.
Support the DC Manager with facilities management, safety, equipment maintenance, inventory control and other non-order related tasks.
Assume leadership of the team in the DC Manager’s absence, including timeclock requests and facility maintenance.
Fill in specific production areas as volume dictates.
Open and close facility as needed.
Be on call for emergency orders.
Requirements
5–8 years of warehouse or inventory management experience.
Experience in a fast‑paced production environment.
Strong communication skills and ability to give direction to sales and distribution staff.
Ability to communicate with multiple levels of the company.
Prior use of RF technology and computerized WMS systems.
Basic PC or computer proficiency.
Must be authorized to work in the United States and be at least 18 years old.
Optional/Bonus
Knowledge of specialty and basic wire and cable products.
Experience with wire and cable cutting/rolling machines, cable jacks, cable pulling eye compressors, saws and cutting tools.
Military training or experience.
Bilingual abilities.
