As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Manager of Food & Kitchen Operations to lead our culinary team and ensure the highest standards of quality and consistency in our dishes.
Job Description
As the Manager of Food & Kitchen Operations, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our kitchen operations, including food preparation, menu development, quality control, and kitchen staff management. Your role is pivotal in maintaining the culinary excellence that defines Kovai Restaurants. You will work closely with the Executive Chef and collaborate with the General Manager to ensure seamless restaurant operations. Key Responsibilities
Kitchen Management:
Lead and manage the kitchen team, including chefs, cooks, and kitchen staff. Ensure a smooth and efficient workflow, maintaining the highest standards of food quality and presentation. Menu Development:
Collaborate with the Executive Chef to create and refine menu offerings. Stay current with culinary trends and adapt menu items to meet guest preferences. Quality Assurance:
Maintain rigorous quality control procedures to ensure consistency in food preparation, portioning, and plating. Conduct regular kitchen inspections to uphold hygiene and safety standards. Inventory Management:
Oversee inventory levels, ordering, and procurement of ingredients and supplies. Monitor food costs and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality. Training and Development:
Train and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and culinary excellence. Conduct regular performance evaluations. Hygiene and Safety:
Ensure strict adherence to food safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment. Implement and enforce health and safety standards. Collaboration:
Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure smooth coordination between kitchen and service staff. Address any food-related concerns or special requests from guests. Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience in kitchen management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role. Strong culinary skills and a deep understanding of South Indian cuisine and flavors. Excellent leadership and team-building abilities. Proven track record of menu development and maintaining high food quality standards. Knowledge of inventory management and cost control.
