Join the New York State Office of Mental Health as a board‑eligible or board‑certified psychiatrist serving as Clinical Lead of multidisciplinary treatment teams at the South Beach Psychiatric Center (SBPC) and its Ocean View Lodge (OVL) outpatient clinic.
Pay Range Base pay: $256,651 – $269,202 per year.
Duties Work schedule is Monday–Friday, 8‑hour shifts at SBPC’s main campus in Staten Island, NY. Key responsibilities include:
Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and develop treatment plans.
Prescribe and monitor psychiatric medications and therapies.
Collaborate with the admission team regarding treatment planning.
Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions, high‑risk reviews, and administrative meetings.
Maintain clinical documentation in accordance with agency, state, and federal standards.
Provide clinical consultation and guidance to staff.
Contribute to the development and improvement of psychiatric and clinical policies.
Minimum Qualifications
Psychiatrist 1:
License and current registration to practice medicine in New York State; completion of an ABPN‑approved psychiatric training program.
Psychiatrist 2:
License and current registration to practice medicine in New York State; ABPN certification in psychiatry.
Eligible candidates under the HELPS program must possess the above qualifications and be licensed in New York State.
Candidates within State Service may be considered under a competitive class appointment with required service history.
