Overview We are seeking an experienced
Senior Accountant
to support our telecommunications client during a critical period. This interim role requires a strong background in complex reconciliations and senior-level accounting work. The consultant will play a key role in month-end and year-end close processes, managing inter-company reconciliations across international subsidiaries, and special projects.
Key Responsibilities
Manage month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Perform complex reconciliations, including inter-company accounts.
Prepare supporting schedules for monthly reporting and assist with financial statement preparation.
Review accounting for revenue recognition, fixed assets activities, capital leases, SG&A expenditures, reserves, prepayments, and accruals.
Complete balance sheet reconciliations and ensure compliance with internal controls.
Support special projects and ad‑hoc reporting as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Proven expertise in complex reconciliations and month-end/year-end close processes.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
Advanced proficiency in Excel and familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Duration:
~6 months with opportunity for extension
Location:
Hybrid, reporting downtown Chicago, IL
Compensation:
$40‑$60 per hour (Over‑time pay eligible)
