Director, Financial Planning and Analysis – State and Federal Division
The FP&A Director will serve as a strategic finance partner to the operations of the State & Federal division. This role will drive financial planning by leading annual, multi‑year, and quarterly forecasting processes, aligning financial performance to Tyler’s overall objectives. The FP&A Director will partner with operational leaders across the division to deliver data‑driven insights, establish support models, monitor and report on actuals‑to‑plan, and support leaders in key business decisions.

Responsibilities Budgeting and Planning
Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly/monthly forecasting processes, establishing internal deadlines and ensuring company deadlines are met.
Create and monitor multi‑year forecasts with inputs and recommendations from business leaders and other divisions.
Work with business leaders to understand projections and forecast revenue in accordance with ASC 606, managing sales bookings, expansion, contraction, churn, and project‑level detail to meet growth targets.
Analyze detailed project revenue and cost streams by customer and product line—anticipate opportunities and risks, monitor cost projections.
Assist in what‑if scenario modeling related to sales opportunities, revenue risk modeling, and general ad‑hoc analyses.
Work with Operations, Development, and Sales to establish and monitor their financial budgets and KPIs.
Collaborate with HR to align resource planning assumptions in financial plans and projections.
Managerial Reporting
Lead and develop a team of analysts supporting multiple business units.
Prepare a financial reporting package for relevant lines of business, including in‑depth analysis of performance, trends, and initiatives.
Analyze trends within KPIs, revenue breakdowns, cost of sales, software capitalization, and headcount implications.
Create a consolidated view of sales targets, revenue, and expenses across divisions.
Present financial results at an executive level.
Support the commission payment process.
Collaborate with Corporate Accounting and Revenue Operations to ensure ASC 606 compliance for billing, revenue recognition, and projections.
Organizational Partnering
Partner across the company to support 2030 financial goals.
Develop familiarity with products, service offerings, the platform, and the leaders supporting them.
Collaborate across business units and organizational levels to influence and steer the company toward desired outcomes.
Qualifications
BS/BA in Business, Accounting, or Finance; CPA or MBA preferred.
10+ years of progressive FP&A experience with public company exposure.
Experience building, leading, and managing high‑performing teams.
Proven experience in SaaS, with focus on government SaaS products.
Understanding of federal contracting is a plus.
Strong analytical skills, detail‑oriented yet strategic.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication.
Extensive systems knowledge, including enterprise accounting and budgeting systems.
Hands‑on data blending and mining from multiple sources into cohesive views.
Ability to travel up to 10–15%.
State‑Specific Salary Range Disclosure Requirements Salary will generally fall between $103,000 - $160,000 before adjustment for geographic differences. Recruiter can confirm if the position is incentive eligible.
