Job Title
Associate Project Manager III – BOB-Project Manager (Job ID# 755807)
Overview Under direct supervision, serves as Associate Project Manager III in the In-House Design Unit of the Division of Bridges, responsible for planning, coordinating and directing the implementation of the design and construction of capital projects. Reviews schedules and reports from consultants, contractors and agencies to ensure conformance with project schedules. Determines and coordinates problems arising in meeting schedules and costs, advising client agencies on project needs and options. Assists Engineer‑In‑Charge in preparing contract plans and engineering sketches using CADD systems for bridge replacement/rehabilitation projects. Participates in preparing specifications and cost estimates, field trips to bridges in design, and performs other related duties.
Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate and direct design and construction of capital bridge projects.
Review and verify schedules and reports from consultants and contractors.
Identify and resolve scheduling and cost issues; recommend solutions to client agencies.
Assist in preparing contract plans and engineering sketches using CADD.
Participate in developing specifications and cost estimates.
Attend field trips to bridges in design.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
One year of full‑time satisfactory experience supervising employees performing project management work on engineering, architectural, or construction projects.
A bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline.
Additional years of supervisory experience or project manager experience on large/complex construction projects.
For those with a four‑year high school diploma, five years of experience or combination of education and experience to meet the 5‑year requirement.
Preferred Skills
Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Recent experience in structural design and preparation of contract bid documents for bridge rehabilitation projects.
Knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications and NYSDOT Bridge Manual.
Experience with structural engineering software: STAAD, LARSA, LEAP, CSI Bridge.

Hours 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Salary $104,720.00 – $141,970.00
