Mortgage Field Services Inspector
to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders. Independent contractors earn a predictable full‑time or supplemental income with a flexible schedule. Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required, but the ability to manage time, meet deadlines, and drive extensively is essential.
What is an Occupancy Verification?
Verify property occupancy.
Report general condition of the property using a mobile application.
Take photos for interior or exterior as required.
Responsibilities
Complete most inspections in 5–6 minutes.
Finish the inspection within 4 days of assignment.
Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards.
Take 9+ photos with brief comments.
Complete a short form in the mobile app.
Spend extended periods driving, making frequent stops within the assigned territory.
Requirements
Computer with internet connection.
Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage a plus as you pay your own gas).
Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
Printer.
Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license.
Pay and Hours This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate, varying by county and volume. Earnings can range from $30–$40 per hour, based on the number and type of inspections. Work is consistent month‑to‑month, with the possibility to earn more by covering larger territories or taking on higher volume counties. No additional mileage reimbursement beyond the flat fee per inspection.
