Mortgage Field Services Inspector
FAR Inspections is seeking highly motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders in Reno, NV. Independent contractors earn predictable full‑time or supplemental income with a flexible schedule. Mortgage field inspection experience is not required—effective time management and meeting deadlines are essential.
What is an Occupancy Verification? The purpose of the property inspection is to verify property occupancy, report on the general condition of the property using a mobile application, and, in some cases, take interior photos after the property has gone vacant.
Responsibilities
Complete most inspections in 5–6 minutes.
Finish each inspection within 4 days of assignment.
Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards.
Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
Submit a short form in the inspection app.
Drive extensively during the day while making multiple stops in the assigned territory.
Requirements
Computer with Internet connection.
Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus; you pay your own gas).
Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
Printer.
Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license.
Pay and Hours This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate that varies by county and volume. Paid per inspection, the equivalent hourly rate is approximately $30–$40. Depending on location, you could complete 20–500 inspections per month, working 2–30 hours per week. Lower‑volume counties have higher rates; higher‑volume counties have lower rates.
No additional mileage reimbursement is provided beyond the flat fee per inspection.
