is seeking a

Waste Sector Business Development Director

to spearhead client engagement, business development, and strategic growth across a dynamic solid waste landscape.

What You’ll Do:

Lead strategic growth: Drive HDR’s market share and revenue growth globally.

Build client relationships: Serve as a trusted advisor to key clients, aligning HDR’s capabilities with client goals.

Drive business development: Lead major pursuits, develop winning strategies, and guide proposal efforts that reflect deep client insight.

Shape market strategy: Collaborate with market and operations leadership to define and support regional strategic plans.

Mentor and train: Support the maturation of business development skills across teams, fostering a culture of client focus and strategic thinking.

Align resources: Ensure the right talent and expertise are matched to client needs and growth opportunities; help HDR attract great people.

What You Bring:

Achieve global booking goals for the Waste Sector.

Manage regional Waste business development leaders.

Maintain strong understanding of Waste market trends and drivers.

Collaborate with the Waste Sector Director to create a vision within company direction.

Oversee annual and long‑term strategic plans and prioritize initiatives.

Develop and drive cross‑market strategic initiatives.

Lead major pursuit teams with effective win strategies.

Identify candidates for management, technical, business development, and marketing positions.

Develop training on business development and marketing best practices.

Implement major client plans and long‑term market share strategies.

Serve as a client manager for significant Waste sector accounts.

Build relationships with teaming partners and engage in professional associations.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Professional or engineering registration or advanced technical experience.

Experience winning high‑value contracts in the waste industry.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum 15 years of relevant industry experience.

Self‑starter with history of completing projects with limited oversight.

Deep knowledge of A/E/C procurement of professional services.

Ability to motivate and inspire others.

Ability to build a network of clients and industry partners.

Experience in sales and developing win strategies.

Strong financial acumen and negotiation skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Willingness to travel and engage in person.

Experience growing programs in new or competitive markets.

Experience writing compelling content from technical information.

Primary Location: United States – Nebraska – Omaha
