Tampa General Hospital
This position is responsible for patient check‑in and check‑out functions utilizing EPIC. It assists patients as they present for scheduled appointments, verifies demographics, collects co‑payments, generates receipts, and ensures all paperwork is complete.
Required Skills High School Diploma or G.E.D. – Required.
Key Accountabilities
Screen patients with scheduled appointments to assess need for pre‑certifications, authorizations, or referrals and educate patients on financial policies.
Manage the front desk, including checking in patients, verifying demographics, collecting co‑payments, generating receipts, and completing all necessary paperwork for accurate billing.
Answer, screen, and route phone calls from physicians, nurses, administrative staff, and other departments to ensure efficient communication.
Complete patient scheduling activities to keep patients seen in a timely manner.
Document patient information in EPIC for complete communication across the clinical team.
Reconcile all received payments through billing activities, reconcile balances, and close the cash drawer before the end of the day.
Maintain overall patient experience and safety, following all emergency clinical policies and protocols.
