Surgical Services Coordinator - USFTGP Cardiovascular
Coordinate the clinical encounters of patients, including clinical appointments, authorizations, and surgery scheduling. Serve as the primary administrative contact for patients, facilitating patient needs with the care team. Ensure an optimized clinic schedule for providers, including template management and guidelines, and work with Medical Assistants to schedule patients appropriately. Work closely with Revenue Cycle Operations to facilitate authorizations and co‑pay/co‑insurance notification and collection.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate all surgical services activities, including referral coordination and scheduling/rescheduling up to the time of surgery completion to avoid gaps that impact surgical timing.
Complete any orders needed for surgeries and/or procedures; track the orders (labs, testing, etc.) and schedules through completion.
Track and maintain providers’ schedules with respect to surgeries and procedures; assign allocated operating room blocks to maximize the number of surgeries.
Maintain overall patient experience and safety, following all emergency clinical policies and protocols.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a clinical setting.
Background in the medical field.
