A respected and established Sacramento law office is seeking an experienced Litigation Secretary to join their team. Position Overview
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of legal administrative experience, including at least 3 years as a Litigation Secretary or Litigation Paralegal. Strong computer skills, impeccable grammar, and the ability to draft clean, professional documents are essential.
This role requires a team-oriented, proactive individual who can communicate professionally with clients, attorneys, and staff while maintaining a high level of efficiency and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive litigation secretarial and administrative support
- Create, format, and maintain legal documents, including TOCs/TOAs
- Assist with trial preparation, exhibit organization, and deadline management
- Manage attorney calendars, schedules, depositions, hearings, and court appearances
- Draft routine correspondence and documents for attorney review
- E-file documents in State and Federal courts; perform conflicts checks
- Open new matters, maintain organized client files, and prepare reports
- Answer phones, manage daily mail, and greet clients professionally
- Make travel arrangements and handle attorney time entry
- Support overall office needs and provide coverage to other staff as needed
Qualifications and Requirements
- 5+ years of legal administrative experience
- Minimum 3 years as a Litigation Secretary or Litigation Paralegal
- High school diploma required; college or vocational coursework preferred
- Strong knowledge of CA State & Federal court rules and e-filing procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with document management, comparison, and formatting software
- Familiarity with Secretary of State, County Recorder, and court filing procedures
- Strong math, report-keeping, grammar, spelling, and communication skills
- Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and accuracy under deadlines
Employment Details
- Full-time, non-exempt
- Fully onsite
- Competitive hourly pay: $30–$38/hr (DOE)
