About Cardiovascular Driven by innovation at the intersection of biology and technology, the Cardiovascular team develops leading solutions for heart recovery, electrophysiology, and stroke. The team elevates standards of care for stroke, heart failure, and atrial fibrillation (AFib) patients.

Purpose As PPD, you will establish formal Impella programs through sustainable relationships with field stakeholders and KOLs.

KOL Engagement Develop and manage strategic relationships with KOLs to support scientific, medical and commercial goals.

Program Resourcing Collaborate with hospitals to identify program efficiencies, protocol development and workflow improvement to ensure long‑term program sustainability.

Principle Duties And Responsibilities

Develop and implement a comprehensive KOL engagement strategy aligned with brand and therapeutic area objectives.

Develop sustainable relationships with designated accounts, health systems, key opinion leaders and stakeholders to impact formalization of Impella programs and optimize outcomes.

Understand hospital market dynamics, uncover gaps in operational efficiency and patient care, and deploy appropriate tools that will ultimately allow us to reach more patients.

Present complex health economic information to influential and diverse groups in a way that is engaging, credible, and easily understood.

Advocate on behalf of heart recovery programs to health system administration & engage with hospital administrators to gain alignment on projects.

Identify and develop new and emerging key opinion leaders through customer visits, executive programs, regional education courses and local programs.

Serve as a corporate liaison between Key Opinion Leaders, IDNs, Healthcare System leaders, and Abiomed’s Executive team to align KOL initiatives.

Communicate routinely with all members of the sales and leadership team as outlined.

Job Qualifications

BA/BS required. MBS or MBA preferred.

4+ years of sales experience within Abiomed OR >7 years of related industry sales experience.

Prior KOL management experience or existing relationships in geographic area.

Experience working collaboratively with C‑suite hospital administrators.

Experience partnering with leaders of IDNs or systems of care.

Must be able to travel overnight extensively (70% depending on geography).

Strong understanding of US health care policy and payment systems, including hospital and physician reimbursement.

Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to influence business objectives.

Strong strategic thinking, planning and tactical execution.

Demonstrated responsiveness and sense of urgency.

Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple priorities.

Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong presentation skills.

Microsoft Office proficiency, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Pay and Incentives The expected base pay range for this position is $132,000 – $211,600, with a competitive sales incentive compensation program available. The role is eligible for a company car allowance through the FLEET program.

Vacation – 120 hours per calendar year

Sick time – 40 hours per calendar year (56 hours for Washington State residents)

Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays – 13 days per calendar year

Work, Personal and Family Time – up to 40 hours per calendar year

Parental Leave – 480 hours within one year of birth/adoption/foster care

Condolence Leave – 30 days for immediate family (5 days for extended family)
