Pay Base pay range: $270,356.00/yr – $283,577.00/yr
Job Description Washington Heights Psychiatric Unit, an Office of Mental Health (OMH) Joint Commission accredited facility, is recruiting Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatrists to serve as the Clinical Leads of multidisciplinary treatment teams. As a Psychiatrist at Washington Heights Psychiatric Unit, you will provide comprehensive, patient‑centered and recovery‑focused treatments to individuals with mental illness 18 years of age or older; including:
Conducting comprehensive psychiatric assessments and patient admissions
Creating treatment plans including medication management
Obtaining and reviewing appropriate laboratory tests and consulting with members of treatment team as needed
Providing individual and group psychotherapy
Supervising Psychiatric Residents and Fellows
Minimum Qualifications Psychiatrist 1: License and current registration to practice medicine in New York State, and completion of a training program in psychiatry approved by the ABPN.
Psychiatrist 2: License and current registration to practice medicine in New York State, and certification in psychiatry approved by the ABPN.
Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide (HELPS) program if they meet the licensing and training requirements above.
Candidates from within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55‑b/55‑c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
The selected candidate will be tested for proficiency in Spanish and must pass at Level 3 proficiency to be considered for appointment.

If appointed you may be required to become an enrolled Medicare provider and provide a National Provider Identifier (NPI) number.
License and Certification: Loss of license or limited permit to practice medicine in New York State or board certification, if required, may result in removal from your position.
