River Edge offers outpatient services at our Emery Highway-Macon, Monroe County and Baldwin County locations. Outpatient services include behavioral health, nursing, and psychiatric assessment, stabilization and medication maintenance services as well as crisis intervention services as well as awareness, education and recovery groups.
In this role… you will prescribe, direct, or administer psychotherapeutic treatment or medications to treat mental, initial evaluations, for individuals, group, and families, emotional, or behavioral disorders.

Responsibilities
Provides direct clinical care to individuals who experience symptoms of mental illness, addiction, co-occurring disorders, or developmental disabilities.
Is a member of our Behavioral Health team.
Provides psychiatric initial evaluation, ongoing assessments, and/or crisis assessments.
Provides patient education on diagnosis, medication, monitoring response(s) to treatment/side effects of medication, treatment adherence, and other relevant topics.
Provides required documentation in the medical records to reflect our agency's diagnosis, treatment goals, interventions, and standards to meet the requirements of state and federal funding entities.
Documents, orders, and signs assessments, progress notes, and medication or lab orders on day of service.
Reviews and signs individual service plans addressing the goals and treatment interventions appropriate for the individual.
Prescribes appropriate medication and obtains baseline metabolic indices as indicated and in accordance with all River Edge and professional/state/federal standards.
Orders medical assessments, consultations, referrals, medications, and lab tests as indicated for patients.
Participates in the Medical Staff peer review/documentation/utilization review processes and maintains agency-established targeted outcomes.
Attends Medical Staff and agency meetings as required.
Qualifications Needed (education and/or Experience)
Graduated from a medical school recognized by and an active Physician license granted by the Georgia composite state board of medical examiners and certification in one of the following specialties: general psychiatry, forensic psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, or a related discipline.
At least two years of post-licensure psychiatric experience in a multidisciplinary mental health setting.
