We are seeking an experienced and strategic Interim Director of Human Resources to lead our HR functions. This leadership role requires a comprehensive understanding of human capital management, employment law, and organizational development. The ideal candidate will oversee talent acquisition, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance initiatives while driving HR strategies aligned with organizational goals. The Interim Director of HR will serve as a key member of the senior leadership team, ensuring effective HR operations and fostering a positive workplace culture. Responsibilities
Develop and implement HR strategies that support organizational objectives, including talent management, succession planning, and workforce planning. Oversee employee relations, conflict management, and performance management processes to promote a productive work environment. Manage compliance with employment & labor law, OSHA regulations, workers' compensation policies, and other legal requirements. Lead recruitment efforts utilizing HRIS systems such as Workday, Oracle HCM, SAP SuccessFactors, and others; oversee onboarding and employee orientation programs. Administer benefits programs including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee perks; ensure benefits administration aligns with company policies. Supervise HR sourcing activities and manage HR program management initiatives to improve process efficiency and organizational design. Oversee payroll processing through systems like ADP, Paychex, Paylocity, UltiPro, Kronos, Dayforce, and Ceridian; ensure accuracy and timeliness. Conduct data analysis for HR metrics related to employee evaluation, engagement surveys, and workforce analytics; utilize data collection tools for strategic decision-making. Lead change management initiatives to adapt HR practices in response to organizational or industry changes. Provide leadership in training & development programs to enhance employee skills and leadership capabilities. Collaborate with senior leadership on budgeting for HR projects and initiatives; ensure alignment with overall business strategy. Qualifications
Proven experience in human resources management with supervising experience in a senior or leadership role for a manufacturing plant. Extensive knowledge of employment & labor law, FMLA, OSHA regulations, workers' compensation, union environment and benefits administration. Strong negotiation skills along with expertise in talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and succession planning. Proficiency with HRIS platforms such as Workday, Oracle HCM, SAP SuccessFactors, ADP/Paychex/Paylocity systems; excellent data analysis skills. Demonstrated ability in strategic planning, process improvement, change management, and program management within a complex organization. Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present effectively to senior leadership and influence organizational change. Experience working with various HR tools including Taleo, PeopleSoft, Ceridian platforms; familiarity with budgeting processes related to HR initiatives is preferred. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or related field; advanced certifications such as SHRM-SCP or SPHR are advantageous.
