Job Summary and Responsibilities As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for performing high-quality magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examinations to assist in diagnosing medical conditions. Every day you will prepare patients for scans, operate advanced MRI equipment, ensure patient safety in the magnetic environment, and accurately capture detailed anatomical images. To be successful, you will demonstrate expert technical proficiency in MRI, meticulous attention to detail for image quality and safety, and excellent patient communication to ensure a comfortable and effective diagnostic experience.
Enforce magnetic field safety for MRI patients, operators, and visitors.
Monitor the patient’s condition before and after the scan to ensure safety and comfort.
Explain testing procedures to patients ensuring they understand what the exam involves.
Position and instruct the patient about the preparation for the MRI test.
Possess knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy of the head, thorax, and abdomen, physiology, and MRI terminology, practices and procedures.
Be familiar with specific MRI coding systems.
Job Requirements Required
High School Graduate General Studies, upon hire
Registered Technologist in Magnetic Resonance Imaging, within 9 months
Registered Technologist in Computed Tomography, within 9 months
ARMRIT MRI, within 9 months
Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT, within 9 months
Basic Life Support – CPR, within 14 days
Preferred
Associate’s degree in Healthcare field or Imaging Studies, upon hire
1-3 years of MR experience, upon hire
Medical Radiographer: TX, upon hire
