Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement strategic purchasing plans and policies.
Source, evaluate, and select suppliers, negotiating contracts and terms to optimize value.
Manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of materials.
Collaborate with production and inventory teams to optimize material flow and minimize stockouts.
Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives while maintaining product quality standards.
Monitor market trends and commodity prices to inform purchasing decisions and mitigate risks.
Ensure compliance with company policies, purchasing procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Recommended Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of progressive purchasing or supply chain management experience in a manufacturing environment.
Proven negotiation, vendor management, and contract administration skills.
Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for procurement and inventory management.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, raw materials, components, and MRO sourcing.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or a related field.
Bonus Qualifications
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or equivalent experience in process optimization.
Experience with international sourcing, import/export regulations, and global logistics.
Proficiency with advanced analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for spend analysis and forecasting.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or experience leading complex supply chain initiatives.
