as Managing Director and Associate General Counsel, Lead Audit Counsel to provide legal leadership for the Audit and Assurance Practice and support our mission of delivering real results for clients while fostering an inclusive and innovative environment.
Responsibilities:
Serve as a primary OGC contact for leadership of the Audit and Assurance Practice on legal and regulatory matters relating to the provision of professional services; advise Tax and Advisory functions on similar matters as needed, including dispute resolution.
Organize and lead the Practice Advisory Group to support the Audit and Assurance Practice.
Stay current on legal and regulatory developments impacting the audit profession and advise the Practice of such developments.
Support the development of comment letters and guidance for the Audit and Assurance Practice.
Qualifications:
Minimum of at least 15 years of experience in a well‑regarded law firm, government agency, or in‑house legal department; JD or LLM from an accredited law school and licensed to practice law in the U.S., including in the state in which the office is located.
Deep experience with civil litigation and regulatory investigations related to the audits of public and private companies and advising the profession on legal and regulatory matters, including training; knowledge of securities laws, rules and regulations related to the audit profession.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and deliver high‑quality results; strategic thinking in sensitive and complex situations and the highest ethical standards, integrity, authenticity, credibility, and character.
Demonstrated collaboration skills, including building strong business partnerships and working within cross‑functional teams; client‑service orientation with the ability to create effective working relationships cross‑functionally.
Leadership skills and ability to navigate ambiguity and influence stakeholders; high emotional intelligence to manage relationships across the team and broader organization, resolve conflicts, manage change, and understand the needs and motivations of senior leaders and team members.
Ability to be proactive in identifying potential challenges, opportunities for enhancement and innovation, including leveraging technology.
Compensation and Benefits:
California Salary Range: $402,000 – $880,000. Salary is determined based on relevant factors such as applicant’s skills, job responsibilities, prior experience, degrees, certifications, and market considerations.
