Instrumentation and Controls Engineer – Intermediate (Data Centers)
Jacobs is looking for an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to design and optimize control systems for data center and industrial facilities. You will be responsible for developing P&IDs, sizing valves, specifying instrumentation, and documenting and modelling design information while ensuring compliance with building codes and industry standards.
Base Pay Range $69,500.00 – $95,500.00 per year
Responsibilities
Develop P&IDs and other design documentation for control systems.
Size valves, specify instrumentation, and model design information.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and designers to deliver complete solutions.
Assist with startup, coordinate work activities, and provide on‑site support during commissioning.
Ensure compliance with building codes and industry standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Control Systems, or Electrical Engineering.
At least 2 years of experience with instrumentation and control.
Working knowledge of DDC, PLC, DCS, and other controls applications is preferred.
Experience in data center projects.
Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Forward‑thinking mindset and eagerness to learn best practices.
Ability to collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
Passion for buildings and construction.
