Nurse Practitioner (NP)
or
Physician Assistant (PA)
for a contingent, inpatient-only orthopedic surgery position. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment with exposure to a wide range of orthopedic cases. You will be responsible for inpatient rounding, postoperative care, alongside a great team of APPs and attending physicians. The position consists of 10‑hour shifts, providing ample opportunity for both professional growth and hands‑on experience in a leading trauma center.
The ideal candidate will have at least
1 year of orthopedic experience . Strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and a commitment to high‑quality, patient‑centered care are essential. Please note that
new graduates
will
not

General Summary The Specialty/Invasive NP/PA will work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. They will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, consultation, and care coordination as a first‑line provider to patients and their families. Provides inpatient and/or outpatient medical care. Works in collaboration with attending physicians, advanced practice providers, consultants, house officers, nurses, and other members of the medical care team to ensure patient outcomes are achieved safely and efficiently. Specific procedures as per credentialing as indicated by training and experience. Works in one of the following departments: Cardiovascular Medicine, Emergency Medicine, ICU, Interventional Radiology, Nephrology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Oncology, Orthopedics, Otolaryngology, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Surgery, Urgent Care, Urology.
Qualifications
Completion of a Nurse Practitioner training program accredited by CCNE or NLNAC.
Completion of a Physician Assistant training program accredited by ARC‑PA.
Certification by a body recognized by the State of Michigan (NP) or NCCPA (PA).
Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Michigan, or in process of applying.
National certification as an NP or PA (e.g., ANCC, AANP, NCCPA).
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
DEA/CSL credentialing required through credentialing.
Experience and Skills Experience:
At least 1 year APP experience, orthopedic preferred; EPIC experience preferred.
Skills:
Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced multidisciplinary environment; commitment to patient‑centered care and continuous professional development.
Conditions of Employment

Salary contingent on credentialing and privileging; successful credentialing process, all offers are contingent on credentialing/privileging.
