Job Overview
Under the direction of a qualified physician, the CT Technologist will operate a variety of equipment, including an x‑ray generator, patient table, control console and computer. The incumbent will be responsible for the acquisition, processing and archiving of all patient data. Under general supervision, the incumbent will independently perform CT examinations using the established exam protocols. The individual will maintain and operate equipment according to manufacturers’ operation manuals and adhere to department protocols, UCDH Policies and Procedures, Department of Radiology Policies and Procedures and other applicable regulations. The technologist must act with initiative and responsibility to achieve maximum radiographic quality and perform all duties calmly in stressful situations, interacting with radiologists, clinicians and peers in a cooperative, harmonious manner. The position may perform duties in the Main Hospital, Ambulatory Care Center and/or satellite facilities throughout UCD’s Primary Clinic Network as deemed necessary by management.
No Prior CT Experience Required
All newly hired CT Technologists complete an in‑house training program tailored to UC Davis standards.

Minimum Qualifications
ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologist) Certification American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS), or UC Davis Health CPR American Registry of Radiologic Technologist ARRT (R) or ARRT (R) (CT) California Radiology Technologist of Radiology (CRT‑R) Certification ARRT CT within six months of hire IV Certification within six months of hire No minimum education required Demonstrated experience and ability to operate CT equipment to provide quality images. Ability to display common sense and good judgement in following rules, protocols, policies and procedures. Ability to function and remain calm under multiple directions and fluctuations of work volume. Ability to handle a high patient volume in a high‑pressure department with constantly changing priorities. Comprehensive knowledge of radiology principles and practices including anatomy and physiology, radiation protection and physics, radiographic positioning, surgical and nursing procedures. Ability to remain flexible with scheduling changes throughout the day to accommodate patient care needs. Ability to use basic nursing skills and CPR. Skill to communicate clearly and effectively on the telephone, in person and written documents. Skill to organize workload by priority to produce a sufficient volume of work in a timely manner. Ability to react quickly and knowledgeably in emergency situations. Must be a self‑starter requiring minimal direction from supervisors or physicians. Knowledge and ability to fill out departmental and hospital report forms and records.
Preferred Qualifications
ARRT (CT) IV Certification Contrast Administration experience Experience performing similar duties in a trauma setting desired.
