Position Summary It’s an exciting time to join our Walmart journey. We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to work on future‑looking initiatives that improve in‑store customer experience for more than 240 million Walmart customers. The mission is to create step‑change in‑store experiences, leveraging emerging technology to help define and deliver on evolving customer expectations.
Responsibilities
Research, develop, and analyze computer vision algorithms related to object detection, tracking, product identification, verification, and scene understanding.
Design, train, and deploy state‑of‑the‑art AI models in a real‑world production environment.
Ensure model robustness, generalization, accuracy, testability, and efficiency.
Write product or system development code.
Collaborate across product and technology groups to create a best‑in‑class consumer experience in the physical retail space.
Qualifications
Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a PhD in Computer Science, Computer Vision, or a related field, or MS with 2 years industry experience.
Experience in machine learning, deep learning, or computer vision.
Experience with programming languages and technical background.
Team player with strong collaboration skills; highly motivated, independent, results‑oriented.
Self‑learner who can adapt rapidly to changing technology and integrate multiple tools to solve business problems.
