$140,000.00/yr - $160,000.00/yr Our client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Controller for a hybrid role based in New York. This individual will play a key role in overseeing fund accounting operations, financial reporting, audits, and investor communications. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise and a highly organized, deadline-driven approach within a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The firm is dedicated to investing in, acquiring, and preserving workforce, affordable, and mixed-income multifamily housing across high-growth metropolitan areas in the United States. The organization manages multiple investment vehicles on behalf of institutional investors and has executed large-scale acquisitions and transactions across its portfolio. Job Function
Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements, capital account statements, partner allocations, and performance reports, ensuring accuracy and adherence to fund agreements and GAAP. Serve as the first point of contact for investor requests, coordinating with internal teams to gather information and prepare professional responses. Collaborate with internal teams and third-party administrators to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. Support fund and cash management activities, including liquidity assessments, capital calls, distributions, and credit facility draws and paydowns. Coordinate with audit and tax firms, managing deadlines and sequencing of deliverables. Assist internal groups with the preparation and review of quarterly, semiannual, and annual reports and marketing materials. Ensure management fees are paid or accrued on a quarterly basis. Provide accurate, timely, and professional service to internal and external stakeholders. Utilize Yardi Investment Accounting and Investment Manager as needed. Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA designation is preferred. 5+ years of related experience. Public accounting and real estate fund experience is strongly preferred.
