Director of Learning Science, 2 Hour Learning (Remote)
Location: Remote Compensation: $200/hour (equivalent to $400,000/year) We are seeking an academic leader to drive our AI‑driven teaching model that enables students to master content in just two hours a day. The role focuses on translating proven learning‑science principles into actionable strategy and operational excellence across schools. What You Will Be Doing
Develop academic frameworks that convert learning‑science research into actionable instruction, motivation, and application design. Conduct academic execution reviews with Heads of Academics to keep teams aligned, accountable, and on target with results. Integrate data, interviews, and observations into comprehensive ecosystem assessments that identify critical barriers to accelerated learning. Ensure strategic alignment via planning cycles, feedback mechanisms, and milestone oversight to sustain focus on student learning objectives. Represent 2 Hour Learning at senior forums, delivering keynotes and engaging with ministries of education worldwide. What You Won’t Be Doing
Engage in narrow curriculum initiatives that lack systemic impact. Produce theoretical research disconnected from student outcomes or operational execution. Transfer accountability for performance to middle management or external consultants. Rely on institutional reputation or conceptual arguments to convince stakeholders. Key Responsibilities
Expand and strengthen 2 Hour Learning’s validated academic model by aligning execution across all schools, raising leadership standards, and serving as the public advocate of a movement founded on rigorous science and measurable results. Basic Requirements
Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Learning Science, Educational Psychology, Instructional Design, or a related field. 7+ years leading academic or EdTech teams with evidence of exceptional learning outcomes. Proven experience applying AI or technology to accelerate learning. Track record of public thought leadership (media, keynotes, books, advising). Strong performance‑management skills with the ability to hold elite peers to a high bar. Fluent in interpreting data to diagnose learning issues and direct interventions. Comfortable engaging directly with students, parents, and school leaders. Nice‑to‑Have Requirements
Founded or led an innovative school model, lab school, or high‑performing EdTech venture. Experience navigating cultural, political, or international education contexts. Deep familiarity with Bloom’s 2 Sigma research and other mastery learning frameworks. About 2 Hour Learning
