Remote work This position is flexible and can be remote anywhere in North America. Preference will be given to candidates located in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Vancouver, Toronto, Boston, Orlando, or Dallas/Fort Worth, US.

Responsibilities

Perform power system studies (internal to the plant) including load flow, short circuit, insulation coordination, TOV, arc flash, and harmonics.

Perform power system studies (external to the plant) related to interconnection to ensure compliance with interconnection requirements and NERC standards.

Support system studies projects throughout their life cycle—from technical bid/proposal to execution, reports, client meetings/presentations, to close‑out.

Contribute to the delivery of projects, delivering on time and to budget.

Work closely with team members across North America and globally.

Work with different types of customers including renewable developers, utilities, and ISOs/RTOs.

Participate in ISO/RTO stakeholder forums and other technical committees such as IEEE or CIGRE.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.

Minimum 4 years of direct experience with system studies on utility‑scale renewable projects.

Experience with power system studies using PSS/E, ETAP, PSCAD or other equivalent software.

Knowledge of applicable industry standards such as IEC, IEEE, and CIGRE.

Exceptional problem‑solving and analytical capabilities with a focus on achieving results.

Team player with excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.

Ability and willingness to travel within North America.

Preferred qualifications

Experience with system studies in California and/or WECC.

Experience with offshore wind and HVDC.

Knowledge of programming languages to streamline studies using Python.

Professional Engineer (PE or PEng) license.
