At Jacobs, we design state‑of‑the‑art industrial and commercial facilities for data centers, delivering world‑class solutions with control systems. This position is responsible for designing, sizing, and specifying instrumentation and controls for a variety of processes, coordinating with architects, engineers, and designers, developing P&IDs, and ensuring compliance with building codes and industry standards. You will also support startup and site assistance, provide on‑site support during commissioning, and work collaboratively within a multi‑disciplinary team.
Responsibilities
Design and optimize control systems for data center processes.
Develop P&IDs, size valves, specify instrumentation, and document design information.
Coordinate work activities with team members and discipline leads, providing on‑site assistance during startup.
Ensure technical quality and schedule adherence for engineering tasks.
Engage in mentorship and continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering team.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Control Systems Engineering.
At least 2 years of experience working with instrumentation and control.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Documentation and modeling experience for control system design.
Preferred Experience and Skills
Knowledge of DDC, PLC, DCS, and other control applications.
Experience working with data centers.
Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
Forward‑thinking, eagerness to learn best practices and contribute innovative ideas.
Enthusiastic collaborator in multidisciplinary teams.
