Responsibilities Senior Manager, Loyalty Accounting works with the CFO, Controller, Director of Revenue Accounting, and other personnel within the accounting function to ensure accurate reporting of loyalty‑related revenue, costs, and liabilities. The role collaborates with an outside actuarial firm (WTW) to model and calculate critical financial components of the program, including redemption rates, value per point, cost per point, and program liability. This highly technical role focuses on accounting for a loyalty program under US GAAP, providing general accounting and general management support to Revenue Accounting teams, overseeing compliance standards and professional development, and handling ad‑hoc technical accounting research, controls, business process improvement, and issue investigation.
Manages a team of direct and indirect reports, providing day‑to‑day oversight, professional development opportunities, and annual performance evaluations, while ensuring compliance with revenue recognition related to the loyalty program (FASB ASC 606) and general accounting.
Maintains and updates underlying schedules and workpapers used to determine loyalty accounting balances for period‑end reporting.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
Master's degree in Accounting/Business Administration combined with a CPA, or CPA/CMA.
10 years of overall accounting experience, including a mix of public accounting and loyalty accounting.
6–8 years of public accounting experience, preferably from a Big 4 firm in audit or consulting on technical accounting matters.
